Zoom is fast becoming the go-to platform for hosting remote meetings. Unfortunately, a few bad actors have found ways to highjack meetings, a practice known as “Zoom Bombing.”
The folks at PC Magazine have a list of settings and tips to keep your meetings open, yet secure. Here are a few key takeaways for local government:
- Use a Unique ID for Large or Public Zoom Calls
- Create a Waiting Room
- Make Sure Only the Hosts Can Share Their Screen
- Disable Someone’s Camera
- Prevent Animated GIFs and Other Files in the Chat
- Disable Private Chat
As always, the methods you use must comply with your state and local open meeting laws.
Stay safe and healthy!
